National Zookeeper Week!

By Jaime Wilson, Zoo Blog Keeper

It's National Zookeeper Week! Now is the time to celebrate and thank all of the hard working zookeepers that care for the zoo animals. They are an extraordinary group of dedicated professionals that strive to keep the animals active, healthy, enriched and comfortable. And they do so much more!

Many of the zookeepers are active in conservation programs locally and around the world. They work as ambassadors for the profession and help zoo visitors understand more about animals, nature and the world around them.

We salute our wonderful zookeepers and hope that you will say thank you the next time you see them at the Sacramento Zoo.

Also, check out the Keeper Profiles series and find out more about them!

  1. Thank you Janine, Kate, Kat, Amanda, & Lindsey, for all you do caring for the animals and educating the public.

And thanks also, this National Zookeeper Week, to Jamie for being keeper of the zoo blog to tell the stories through Keeper Profiles, and ED Mary Healy and the Zoo board of directors for being keepers of all the keepers!
